The Best Part

Dear Madre et tout le monde,

This week I had my first zone conference! It was actually a multi zone conference so I got to see not only Sœur C but also Elder T! It was the happiest reunion! But not only that Sœur P also came! Her family lives in the Geneva stake! It was so wonderful to see so many of my MTC District! I'm really grateful I get to see Sœur C at every district meeting too though. Elder T was so excited to see us! It was so sweet. We got to eat a meal with him for the first time because at the MTC the elders were at separate tables from the sœurs. He didn't hardly eat because he said he was too excited!

The zone conference was really amazing. We focused on the Book of Mormon. My sister training leader companions and the two other zone leaders taught about a story from the Book of Mormon and related it to Missionary work. It was really great. Then President Brown talked about Teancum and how he always stepped up when there was work to do. He also talked about how he saw a man at the hotel where he was staying who had body guards and who was most likely going to a meeting at the UN. He talked about how no matter how important the meeting, none of the meetings taking place in Geneva were as important as our zone conference. I thought that was really amazing to realise!

Another really amazing thing was when we talked about how this transfer the senior companions and leaders got smart phones. He asked why we're getting smart phones now since technology is kind of a double edged sword. But he said the reason we getting them is so that we can be the first generation of missionaries to go home knowing how to use technology safely. The technology safeguards are completely applicable to after the mission as well.

The best part of the week was Thursday when R had her baptismal interview. We went through the questions with her beforehand and she was so ready. She is so excited for her baptism this Saturday! It's the last weekend of the transfer and it couldn't be a better way to finish! On Sunday we taught her about temples and family history and she was even more excited! We showed her pictures of the temple in the Philippines and the Bern temple (which is the closest temple). She said that now she's had two things to be happy about: her baptism and going to the temple to baptize her ancestors!

Unfortunately, this week I got sick. It was strange to rest. Usually when I have to decide to stay home I stress or a lot about it, but Sœur W was very decisive for me. But also both of our appointments cancelled so it all kinda worked out. I slept and my companions worked on contacting anciens amis which was something we've been needing to do as well.

We had a mangez vous with a family named the V. Sœur V told us that she first encountered the Book of Mormon at a Marriott hotel! (Everyone asks me if I'm related to the Marriott Hotel Marriotts or Sister Neil Marriott XD) She was curious about it then but not too much. Then later they met a Mormon family and she was intrigued that they had a really big family and went to church every Sunday so she decided to go to church. And eventually they got baptized!

Today for P-day we went to the UN. It was interesting but mostly very factual. I'll send some pictures.

I'm sorry my emails are a bit too much of streams of consciousness! I hope they make some sense! ;)

I love my mission!

Love,

Sœur Marriott
