Fall
Dear everyone,
This week has not been very eventful! We have had some very good lessons with M! She is so sweet and so thoughtful in her search to understand the gospel. This week we talked about faith, repentance, and baptism one by one just with her (on top of Sunday school). She came to church on Sunday as well as our other new ami M. M does not seem daunted by coming into a new church! He commented in Sunday school and I heard he did in priesthood even. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to have a lesson with him since Monday. Please pray that he will make the time and effort to see us even with his university classes!
Last week in Sunday school our new ward mission leader made an analogy about faith that I liked. He said belief is like having a crêpe recipe and believing that it would make good crêpes. But faith is believing that it would make good crêpes and then getting out the bowls, ingredients, etc and actually putting the recipe to practice. I liked that because it clearly illustrates the fact that faith without works is dead. We might believe something is true, but if we don't do anything about it, what good is that belief to us?
Then this week we talked about repentance. We went through the steps one by one as a class: recognising, feeling remorse, stopping, confessing, repairing, forgiving others, and keeping the commandments. But as we talked I realised the necessity for our Savior Jesus Christ. Going through the steps in order to try to change is like trying to pull yourself up by your shoelaces. It's only by reaching up to Christ that we can stand after we've fallen on the trail of life. He is the source of our ability to repent. Without him we cannot be freed from our sins. I know he is our Savior. I know he lives and loves us. However many times we have fallen, however many times we fail, he is there and will always be there, because his Atonement is infinite and his love is without end.
I love you all! I'm so grateful to be here to learn so so many things! Have a wonderful week!

P. S. Another expression of Christ's love is in the beautiful autumn here in Limoges! Look at these beautiful leaves! It's like a bouquet of flames.
