Cannes, Nice, Lyon, et Chalon

Dear everyone!

This has been another really wonderful week. We had a lot of travelling and quite a few rendez vous which was great!

On Tuesday we had a rendez vous with Sœur Vivier and we talked about following the promptings of the Holy Ghost. It turned out to be just the thing to talk about because that week she had had a dramatic experience where she felt she needed to call a fellow worker on a Sunday, but she rationalised away the feeling until a few days later and then she called her and it turned out that on Sunday she had been in a traumatic car accident! Wow! The Holy Ghost is really a wonderful gift. There are so many things that he can guide us to say or do and we really have to idea why, but in the end the Holy Ghost witnesses of truth and has a much better perspective of things than we do. I also felt really impressed by Sœur Stucki this week and her commitment to follow the Holy Ghost. On P day for example we were walking around enjoying the city and passed a lady sitting at a bus stop. I was not really thinking about contacting (:/) but after we had passed the lady and just said bonjour Sœur Stucki asked if we could go back and talk to her. Of course we did and we ended up being able to invite the lady to church and give her our card. I was really impressed by Sœur Stucki and her willingness and readiness even on a P day. I'm working on that this semaine.

On Wednesday we went to Nice for our exchange with the sister training leaders. It was really great! I was with Sœur Jiminez who is from Colombia! She is so wonderful and so strong! I got to go to the ward mission leader meeting with her and the zone leaders and really learned a lot and was inspired by them! It was really great to have her example especially with contacting in transport. Also she had some good habits with making the most of the technology resources we have. For example sending an answer to a question to an investigator over FB messenger video.

On Thursday we had our district meeting in Nice which was also really amazing. We talked about having the faith to find people to be baptized. Sœur Stucki and I have really been trying to keep up our faith and hope here in Cannes. We had a good lesson with our ami Christian this week with a member who speaks Italian as well and who was also a member of the same religion before he was baptised. Christian remembered our last lesson very well and said he had been reading the Book of Mormon but had been struggling to understand it, so we're going to read together this week. We chose to read Alma 32. I think it will be a great lesson! I love that chapter.

On Saturday and Sunday we had a couple activities with the ward which was great. The members here are really so strong and I love them! In gospel principles we talked about obedience and what can be the different motivating factors of being obedient. It really inspired me to always act out of love for Heavenly Father. Sometimes it's easy to fall into the habit of acting out of duty or even fear, but love is the most long lasting and the one that will bring us true joy. It's amazing that the more we Obey the more Heavenly Father blesses us, so like King Benjamin said we are forever in His debt.

Today Sœur Stucki and I went up to Lyon for P day to break up our trip to Chaldon for her year legality. Our P day in Lyon was truly lovely. The weather was gorgeous, we got to visit a basilica, the hotel de ville, see the Rhône or Saône River, walk through a beautiful park, everything. It was wonderful. We are so spoiled in this mission!

I love you all! I'm so grateful for this gospel! I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father for sending me to this mission! I'm the luckiest girl in the world. :)

Have a wonderful week!

Avec amour,
Sœur Marriott
